Pope Francis: Anti-Semitism Contradicts Christianity

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."  (Genesis 12:3)

Last week, Israeli President Shimon Peres went to the Vatican to meet with the newly elected Pope Francis I to discuss Middle East tensions, the peace process, the importance of Jerusalem, and the threat of anti-Semitism.

The Pope assured Peres that anti-Semitism contradicts the true Christian spirit.

wherever you go."  (I KIngs 2:3)

During the meeting, Peres asked the Pope to pray for Israel and presented him with a leather-bound Hebrew-English Bible.

Peres also extended an invitation to Pope Francis to visit Israel.

"I would like to invite you to visit the Holy Land.  I am sure that you will be received warmly by all the citizens, regardless of religion, race or nationality.  The citizens of Israel see in you a leader of peace and good will.  The sooner you visit the better as in these days a new opportunity is being created for peace and your arrival could contribute significantly to increasing the trust and belief in peace," he told the new Pope.  (Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

A time has not yet been set for the visit.

The Pope and Perez agreed that it was important that the Palestinians and Israel return to peace negotiations.

Referring to a meeting that took place last week in Washington between US Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi, Peres said of the Arab League, “It’s good they returned to peace initiatives at this time.  It’s very important they again support the two-state solution.”

In the Washington meeting, Arab League delegates reiterated their demands that any agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians be based on 1967 lines before the Six Day War; however, for the first time, they showed openness toward “minor” land swaps between the two.

US Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed the changed language, calling it a “very big step forward.”  (YNet)

Friend, Bible prophecy reveals that God has no interest in dividing His land.  Please pray that God would protect Israel from international pressure to give portions of the Holy Land to terrorists in the hope of a peace that its enemies will not deliver.

“I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.  There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.”  (Joel 3:2)

Palestinian Terrorist Murders Israeli in West Bank

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”  (Isaiah 5:20)

While Israel’s president Shimon Peres continues to refer to the Palestinian Authority as a legitimate “peace partner,” a terrorist on the Fatah Facebook site has been hailed as a hero.

Fatah is the largest faction of the ruling PLO in Palestinian-controlled Judea and Samaria (the West Bank).

It responded to the recent killing of a 31-year-old father of five, Evyatar Borovsky, by honoring his killer, Salam As’ad Zaghal, who Israel had released from prison last month after he served a three-year term for criminal offenses, such as throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.  (Times of Israel)

Fatah posted photos from the scene of the attack, referring to the murder as a “success.”

The site displays a portrait of Zaghal with an AK-47 beneath his head, the caption reading, “Peace be with you the day of your birth, on the day of your imprisonment and on the day of your freedom.”

Borovsky, who was from the settlement of Yitzhar, near the city of Nablus, was stabbed to death last week by Zaghal at a bus stop at Tapuach Junction.

Zaghal then took the gun that Borovsky had been carrying and opened fire on soldiers at a nearby Border Guard post, who returned fire, wounding the attacker.  (YNet)

warning Israelis NOT TO ENTER due to the danger of violence.

Borovsky was an actor known for his smile.  Through theatre and comedy, he devoted his time and talents to helping those who suffered.  (Algemeiner)

“I can’t believe that I’m here.  Surely tonight you’ll get up, you’ll laugh and say, ‘I fooled you,’” his bereaved father said at his hesped (eulogy).   “That’s what you always did, made everyone happy.  Go before God and say, ‘I am the last sacrifice.’”  (Matzav)

“Rise up, ascend to the heavenly chair and ask God to be the last; tell him there can be no more of this.  Enough,” he said.  (YNet)

Thousands attended Borovsky’s funeral held at Kfar Hasidim Cemetery.

“I am not sure I can keep my promise not to cry,” Borovsky’s father said at the gravesite.

It is believed that Zaghal may have carried out the attack to gain credibility as a loyal Palestinian after his brother was tried by a Palestinian Authority court for allegedly collaborating with Israel.

From the Cradle to the Grave: Hamas Grooms Child Martyrs

The terrorist organization Hamas is seeking to join forces with the PLO organization’s Fatah faction in order to form a Palestinian state.

However, while Hamas is actively petitioning the US and European Union to remove the terrorist label from the group, it is also actively training children as young as five and six to be martyrs.

For instance, the Middle East Research Institute (MEMRI) recently published a translation of a program for children that aired on the al-Aksa network—only one in a continuing chain of such programming—featuring the grandchildren of the late Hamas Member of Parliament, Umm Nidal.

Nadal became famous when she publicly celebrated the deaths of her three sons who were killed during the second intifada (armed uprising).

One grandchild called on her own generation to continue the struggle to liberate the Temple Mount al-Aksa Mosque, encouraging them to achieve “either victory or paradise, Allah willing.”

The announcer, who is also a child, said, “We should sacrifice our lives for the sake of the homeland so we can please Allah and liberate Palestine and Jerusalem.”

Children are being taught that Palestine includes all of Israel.

Efforts to brainwash Palestinian children continue into the teenage years.

Palestinian teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 are being trained in the use of Kalashnikov rifles, rockets and hand grenades.

Special training camps have been set up for teens during school breaks and summer vacation.  This is being carried out under the auspices of the Hamas Education Ministry.

As many as 37,000 teens are involved in this training.

Although the course is presently being offered to boys, there are plans to include training for girls starting in the fall.

This continuing incitement to violence against Israel among Palestinian young people is hosted by a government that claims it is ready to join forces with the Palestinian Authority to bring about a separate Palestinian state.

In reality, it indicates that such a Palestinian state is not ready for peace.

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."  (Genesis 12:3)

Ben, the Word of God promises that Israel will be a blessing to the nations, and indeed, it is.  One of the arenas in which it continues to be a blessing is in medicine.

However, as much as Israel hopes to bring healing to the world, both physical and spiritual, it is in need of the healing touch of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah).

You can bring blessing and healing to Israel today Ben by partnering with our ministry to the Jewish people here in the Holy Land.
